Staff:

Laurie Beck is the barn manager and show team coach.  She has significant experience with horses; both in training, riding competitively and coaching. Laurie is also a Certified Medical Emergency Tech and lends an amazing source of confidence to parents and riders in the event of that inevitable fall.

Kate Light began by teaching therapeutic riding at Great and Small in Boyds, MD in 2006 and has enjoyed working with children ever since. She is a certified Registered NARHA (North American Riding for the Handicapped Association) instructor, and has over 15 years of horse experience. Currently, Kate attends the University of Maryland and enjoys working with her own horse while continuing to develop as a rider.

Kate Malone assists with group lessons and is becoming certified to teach private lessons to beginners.

Hilary Holbrook  joined Stoney Creek in 2009 and quickly became a lesson favorite. Hilary grew up in Maryland's horse country and has a long family history of fox chasing, eventing and showhunting. Hilary is the 2010 summer camp director and will be teaching lessons on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays and will be working birthday parties and barn bum days. She currently helps run a lesson barn in Wheaton and is re-habilitating and re-training a beautiful retired racehorse named Pirate.

Christa Cooper is new to The Saddle Club. She is also a capable rider and horsewoman. She is a mother of three young children and really understands their connection with ponies. She is trained in Natural Horsemanship as well as traditional riding methods.

Christine Bertoncini is a teaching assistant who has taught small children in Montgomery County for several years. She also exercises and trains our lesson ponies.
